Wabtec and Marinsa Secure Marine Engine Order for New Panama Canal Tugboats

PITTSBURGH, November 28, 2023 – Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) and Latin American Channel Partner, Marinsa International, recently signed a contract to supply the primary power for 10 new hybrid tractor tugboats for the Panama Canal Authority (ACP). Under the contract, Wabtec will deliver two 8L250MDA marine engines for each tugboat. The marine engines will provide maximum availability with the lowest life-cycle cost for the vessel operators.

Wabtec to Advance Electrification of Vessels in HYPOBATT Project

Wabtec Corporation is working to advance the electrification of vessels by participating in the HYPOBATT (Hyper powered vessel battery charging system) project. Wabtec Secures Marine Engine Order for Largest U.S. Hopper Dredger for Manson Construction Co.

Wabtec will deliver five V250MDC marine diesel engines (three 16V250MDC units and two 12V250MDC units). The Frederick Paup will be owned and operated by Manson Construction Co. and built at the Keppel AmFELS Shipyard in Brownsville, Texas.

Wabtec Wins Federal Order for Marine Engines on two NSMV ships for U.S. Maritime Administration

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) announced today its first U.S. Government order for marine engines with advanced emissions reduction technology. The deal is worth more than $10 million and marks Wabtec’s 100th order for EPA Tier 4 compliant marine engines. The Wabtec 16V250 Series Marine Diesel Engines will be used aboard the U.S. Maritime Administration’s two new National Security Multi-Mission Vessels (NSMVs). The vessels represent the first two of a planned five-ship NSMV fleet.
